Seamless Transition and Call for Support
The outgoing coordinator, Hajia Safia, officially handed over the national secretariat keys, official vehicles and relevant documents to the new leadership.
She congratulated the new appointees and assured them of her support whenever needed. She also urged GSFP staff to rally behind the new leadership to ensure the programme’s continued success.
Encouraging her successor, Hajia Safia advised her to remain firm and resolute in handling the affairs of the programme, emphasizing the need for courage and determination.
A New Era of Teamwork and Inclusivity
In her first remarks as National Coordinator, Hajia Fati Forgor expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception from her predecessor and the GSFP staff. She called for unity and an end to internal divisions, emphasizing a leadership style based on fairness and teamwork.
“I am here to work with everyone as a team. I am not here to witch-hunt anybody or act based on prejudice. I believe in getting to know people personally rather than relying on hearsay,” she assured the staff.

Commitment from Management
The Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Madam Akyere Frimpong Manu, officially welcomed Hajia Fati Forgor and her deputies on behalf of the GSFP management and staff.

She pledged their full support, urging them to work diligently to enhance the programme’s impact on schoolchildren nationwide.
Government’s Boost to School Feeding Programme
Meanwhile, in a significant policy move, the government has increased the feeding grant per child per meal from GH₵1.50 to GH₵2.00. This announcement was made by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson during the presentation of the 2025 budget statement in Parliament, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving the GSFP.
With her vision for unity, fairness and efficiency, Hajia Fati Forgor’s tenure is expected to usher in a new chapter for the Ghana School Feeding Programme.
