IN A BID to shape a people-centered 2025 national budget, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and his team from the Ministry of Finance have engaged market women, traders and the general public at the bustling Makola Market.

The visit aimed to gather firsthand insights from traders and small business owners on the economic challenges they face and their expectations for the upcoming budget. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to inclusive policymaking and grassroots engagement in national financial planning.

Dr. Ato Forson emphasized the importance of stakeholder input in crafting a budget that addresses the real concerns of Ghanaians. The traders, in turn, voiced issues such as rising costs of goods, taxation and access to credit, hoping their concerns would be reflected in the 2025 fiscal plan.

The Finance Ministry is expected to continue similar engagements across other regions as it prepares to present the budget to Parliament later this year.
