THE NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly condemned the vandalism and looting of state properties reported in parts of the Greater Accra and Northern Regions since December 8, 2024.

In a press statement issued by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC expressed dismay at these incidents, which involve the destruction of state warehouses and the theft of food, fertilizer, and other items.

Reports suggest that some acts were carried out by disgruntled supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who accused their party’s parliamentary candidates of hoarding state-procured resources intended for voter inducement during the elections. Meanwhile, other incidents have been attributed to overzealous NDC supporters celebrating the party’s victory in the just-concluded elections.

NDC GENERAL SECRETARY,  FIFI FIAVI KWETEY.

“The NDC hereby condemns in no uncertain terms these acts of lawlessness, whether carried out by NDC supporters or supporters of other parties,” Fifi Kwetey stated.

The NDC has called for calm and urged all supporters to celebrate responsibly while respecting the law to maintain peace and order across the country.
