One of the NDC Legal brains and former MP for Akotia, Lawyer Baba Jamal has honoured two Teams from Nima in the East Ayawaso Constituency in Accra.
The two teams – Montreal United and Basiktals Football Academy, from same constituency played in the just ended Greater Accra Regional Division-2 league and placed 1st and 3rd positions respectfully.
This fit the teams chalked resonate with Hon. Baba Jamal who thought it prudent to show concern and love and he honour them for their sterling performance.
The honouring ceremony came off at the Mahama Center, Kanda Highway near Nima-441, Accra; he believes these young lads need some encouragement to boost their morale to continue to market the name of East Ayawaso.
He presented 2 sets of jerseys, 2 footballs and an envelope containing Ghs 2,000.00 cash to the winners of the league, Montreal United and the 3rd placed team Besiktas football Academy received a set of jersey, a ball and a cash of Ghs 1,000.00.
This effect, Lawyer Baba Baba Jamal aka Ascolondo promised to be with both teams in the coming seasons and provide them with all the necessary assistance so they continue to raise high the name of Nima and Ayawaso East at large.
He indicated that footballing is now a serious business where young people also go into it as their profession to end a living to take care of their families, hence its important they are helped so they could go places.
Football used to be considered a profession for the uneducated persons, but today it is a profession that the educated are fighting the uneducated over it because of the huge benefits, noted Ascolondo.
