100 Days In Office: Madina MP sets-up Teachers & Students Award Scheme

The Hon Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu has sets-up an award scheme for the teachers of both public and private Schools in the area.

He also sets up scholarship scheme to support all needy but brilliant school going children in both private and public Schools In the area.

For the best teacher award scheme, the winner is expected to take home a salon car whilst the runners up get other valuable items.

This move was to him critical to improve the education in his Madina Constituency.

During the press briefing on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, the MP outlined a number of initiatives in his first 100 days since he was sworn-in as the new MP for his people.

The Hon. MP ear-marked projects and policies some of which are on-going in certain parts of Madina.

Mr. Kojo Sosu accounted to the constituents his stewardship and achievements in the first 100 days in office and inform them of his next programmes and policies.

He indicated that a number of scholarships and job training have been rolled out for the youth who were interested in one vocation or the other and they are doing well.

According to the legislator,
as part of his efforts to encourage more young people into the legal profession, he has instituted a new award scheme for fresh Lawyers where he promised to offer them free internship at his law firm with a reasonable stipends sustain them.

The Hon MP further indicated his outfit would roll out number of programmes to ensure the living condition of the people is improved.

At the fund raising ceremony at the UPSA, les by Dr. Nii Dzani Kotei, about Ghc 280,000 has been committed to the educational fund.

This amount was anticipated could support about 100 students with scholarship package in the constituency.

In the area of health, the MP promised to build a new health facility at Oyarifa and give a face-lift to the existing facilities including the one at Teiman, Pantang and Abokobi.

He expressed disappointment at the various contractors working on road networks, and promised to take them on to ensure the completion of those projects.
