COA MIXTURE RELAUNCHED IN ACCRA – NATIONAL TYMES

The revered herbal company in Ghana and beyond, COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited has relaunched its highly rated herbal product, COA Mixture over the week in Accra.

The relaunch was made following a number of reasons including how the efficacy of the newly branded COA mixture which has already flood the market places. COA mixture is an organic medicine and an immune booster.

The COA mixture is so far one of the best plant medicines in Ghana, African and beyond, with the improved efficacy for the general well-being of everyone.

At the launch, the Hon. Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan John Kwadwo Keyeremanteng who launched the product, commended COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited.

The Hon Minister hinted that the global market for herbal medicines has an estimated value of about $110 billion per year, and this was projected to reach $178 billion by 2026. The good news is that most of these medicinal plants are found in the country and the continent by extension.

According to him, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that about 80% of the developing world use plant/herbal medicines for their health care needs. He indicated that today medicinal plants are a vital source that are being cultivated for both health and socioeconomic benefits.

He mentioned that countries in Africa and Asia use herbs as their first line of treatment for some diseases, and added that many of these pharmaceutical products that are in used currently are derived from plants from the tropical regions of the world including Africa.

Ghana’s Trade Minister expressed joy that plant medicine has become a lucrative industry, and following the interest in herbal medicine manufacturing, it behooves on herbal medicine manufacturers to adopt technology and innovative mechanisms to address the growing concerns about their quality, safety and efficacy due to poor methods of preparation.

However he saluted the company for its role in promoting health and wellbeing of Ghanaians and Africans at large through improved plant medicine under their Collaborative Research project.

Hon. Alan Keyermaten disclosed that the government is happy to note the expansion in the herbal industry in Ghana which seeks to position the sector to tap into the global market in order to boost non-traditional exports.

To this effect, he mentioned that the government through his Ministry will collaborate with COA Mixture Manufacturing Company and other herbal medicine manufacturers to improve their production facilities in order to take advantage of this market opportunity.

He indicated that huge job opportunities could be created in this sector to help curtail the unemployment situations in Ghana.

Prof. Samuel Ato Duncan, CEO of the COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited has indicated that a percentage from the accumulated income from the herbal industry could clear Ghana’s debt if governments could also give attention to this sector.

Prof Ato Duncan made revelation when he disclosed that about Ghc390 billion is realised from herbal medicine industry, whilst he presented a cheque donation of GHc100, 000 to GAFTRA to improve on their research work into plant medicine in Ghana.

He maintained that COA Research and Manufacturing Company is working hard in its quest to help get cure for diseases that have no cure. He explained that COA mixture has certain potency that could keep anyone very strong.

Prof. Samuel Ato Duncan argued that COA is a research break through to a lot of health problems in Ghana and beyond.

The Ghana Medical Association, GMA promised to use plant medicines that are approved by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) with the right dosage. They urged other players in the industry to follow the footsteps of COA so that their products would be used at health facilities.

Other industrial players such as Ghana Association of Medical Herbalists, GAMH; Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners, GAFTRAM and Centre for Plant Medicine Research, CPMR, took their turn to solidarise with COA Company Limited at the relaunch.
