NUGS OPENED CITY CAMPUS OFFICE COMPLEX

The National Union of Ghana Students, NUGS commissioned a refurbished office complex at the Accra City Campus of the University of Ghana in the Region.

According to the outgoing NUGS President, Emmanuel Boakye Yiadom, since the late Ambassador Lee Ocran handed over the space to the NUGS in 2013 when he was Education Minister, there was no any major renovation.

He indicated that they have inherited a malfit and unworkable office complex to operate from as a Union; hence the need to refurbish the place to an acceptable offices for the NUGS. However, he was quick to acknowledged the effort of their predecessors who also gave the place a facelift.

The office complex has enough spaces to house the 9 Executives with the two appointed officers. Mr. Boakye Yiadom, the outgoing NUGS  President, hinted further that they have also provided offices for other Unions such as GUPS, NAHSAG, USAG, GRASAG, TTAG and RARCS.

He indicated that they have office as business centre stocked with printers and photocopier machines to raise revenue for the incoming administration and beyond.

In his statement, Mr. Boakye Yiadom expressed a profound appreciation to some governmental organisations, agencies, companies and individuals for their support to renovate the office complex to a befitting standard.

Mr. Kobena Appiah, Managing Director of State Housing, who has helped to Commission the NUGS office complex, urged them to maintained the office and it facilities well to ensure they last longer.

The newly elected NUGS Executives are:- Dennis Appiah  Larbi-Amopofo – NUGS President; General Secretary – Joshua Opey; Francisca Lynn Willis – Financial Secretary; Secretary for Education- Ransford Tege.

Others are, Isaah Ahmed – Secretary for Union Development; Jessica Twumasi – Secretary for Women’s Development; Alex Oppong Kyekyeku – Secretary for International Relations; Badu Kwarteng Kwodwo – Secretary for Societies and Welfare and Amin Mohammed – Secretary for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Skills Development.
