THE Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced that the 2027 Hajj mandatory medical screening exercise will begin in Accra on Thursday, 15th October, 2026.

The exercise will be held at the Hajj Village at the Accra International Airport in Greater Accra Region, and will end on 15th November, 2026.
According to a press release issued by the PAOG on 14th October, 2026, the screening is being conducted as instructed by the Saudi Ministry of Health.
The release signed by the Director of Communications, Mohammed Amin Lamptey, said the exercise had already started on 3rd October, 2026 in Tamale and continued on 10th October, 2026 in Kumasi before moving to Accra.
The Chairman of PAOG, Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim and members of the Hajj Board have expressed gratitude to all accredited Hajj Agents, medical experts and prospective pilgrims for the smooth process so far.
The statement urged all prospective pilgrims to preserve and not disclose their medical information, history, conditions, treatments and lifestyle factors, explaining that medical experts need accurate information to make proper diagnoses and build safe treatment plans.

According to the medical experts, pilgrims who were not successful at their first or second appearance can still qualify after timely evaluation and treatment to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage.
Prospective pilgrims are required to pay GHC650 before going through the screening process.
The PAOG also urged all prospective pilgrims to report on time to avoid chaos, confusion and overcrowding.
