THE MEMBER of Parliament for Salaga South in the Savannah Region, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has once again shown her support for education by providing essential items to candidates preparing for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the East Gonja Municipality.
A total of 1,155 candidates are expected to sit for the exams, which begin on Monday, May 4, 2026. To support them, the MP donated 1,200 mathematical sets and 24 boxes of pens. The items were presented on her behalf by the Salaga South NDC Constituency Chairman, Haruna Abdul Aziz. He said the MP has made education a top priority and has supported BECE candidates for the past six years.

Her support has included mock exams, learning materials, transport, and meals. He also announced that arrangements have been made to provide daily lunch for candidates, invigilators, and security personnel during the examination period.

Students from the Konkomba, Kafaba, Makango, and Abromase circuits, who will be staying at Salaga Senior High School and T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, will also receive breakfast and supper.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Municipal Education Directorate, Rev. Augustine Tunkungmen thanked the MP for her continued support. He assured that the materials would be quickly distributed to help students prepare well.

He added that such support reduces the financial pressure on parents and helps students perform better. The MP also wished all candidates success and encouraged them to stay focused, disciplined, and confident as they write their exams.
