PRESIDENT JOHN Dramani Mahama has nominated Mr. Israel Adjetey Otchwemah, a dynamic and development-oriented young leader, as the next Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ledzokuku.
A proud indigene of Teshie, Mr. Otchwemah is celebrated for his deep understanding of the community’s traditions, values and aspirations. His cultural sensitivity and authentic leadership style have earned him widespread admiration among residents.
Mr. Otchwemah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Management Studies from Sunyani Technical University, equipping him with strong skills in administration, governance and strategic development.
His professional journey spans both the public and private sectors. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Senior Disaster Control Officer at the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), where he plays a vital role in emergency response coordination and community resilience planning.
He has also held leadership roles as Administrative Manager at DMA Investment Limited and the Accra East Football Association, demonstrating his prowess in operational management and strategic planning.
Beyond public service, Mr. Otchwemah is the Managing Director of Zinaps Football Club, championing youth development through sports and community engagement.
A committed member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Otchwemah’s political career started at the grassroots level as a Branch Secretary.
He currently serves as the Constituency Youth Organizer for Ledzokuku and is an influential figure in the 2024 Ledzokuku NDC Campaign Team and Political Committee. He is known for his strategic input in youth mobilization, campaign planning and policy research.
During his student days, he also made his mark as President and Secretary of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) at Sunyani Technical University, advocating for student activism and political education.
Widely recognized for his unifying spirit, result-oriented leadership and advocacy for youth inclusion and sustainable development, Mr. Otchwemah’s nomination is seen as a strong endorsement of his capabilities and the confidence reposed in him by the NDC and the Teshie community.
If approved, he is expected to bring energy, vision and grassroots-driven development to the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly.
