A delegation from the Ghana American Football Federation (GAFF) and Be Authentic Foundation, founded by Ghanaian NFL Star Brian Asamoah, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddi Adams.

The meeting aimed to formally introduce the upcoming national flag football tryouts and extend an invitation to the minister for the highly anticipated event.

GAFF, the official governing body for American football and flag football in Ghana, is spearheading efforts to assemble a national flag football team to compete in the African Continental Championship in Egypt later this year.
Speaking at the meeting, GAFF Vice President Hamza Luwaa Jibril expressed gratitude to the minister for his support and emphasized the significance of Ghana’s participation in the championship.
He also highlighted the long-term goal of securing a spot for Ghana at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics in flag football.

Brian Asamoah, linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings and founder of Be Authentic Foundation, reaffirmed his commitment to developing American football in Ghana. His foundation is actively leading fundraising efforts to build a strong national team capable of competing on the continental and global stage.
Hon. Kofi Iddi Adams commended both GAFF and Be Authentic Foundation for their dedication to the sport and pledged the Ministry’s support to ensure the growth and success of American football in Ghana.

With momentum building, the upcoming tryouts mark a crucial step in Ghana’s journey toward flag football excellence on the African and global stage.
