
THE ACTING Director General of the Ghana AIDS Commission, Dr. Kharmacelle Prosper Akanbong, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, to discuss Ghana’s readiness for the upcoming 23rd International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA 2025).

The high-level meeting focused on key preparations for the prestigious continental event, which is scheduled to take place from December 3 to 8, 2025.
Both leaders expressed commitment to ensuring Ghana’s successful hosting of the conference, which is expected to draw global experts, policymakers and advocates in the fight against HIV/AIDS and STIs.

Dr. Akanbong highlighted the significance of ICASA 2025 in showcasing Ghana’s leadership in public health and reaffirming its commitment to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Minister Akandoh assured full government support towards delivering a world-class event.
