IN A SIGNIFICANT move to bolster national security, President John Dramani Mahama has announced a visionary plan to upgrade the Asutsuare Training Camp into a world-class military training facility.

The transformation is set to position Ghana as a regional leader in military preparedness and training.
The announcement came during a high-level meeting with the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff, Major General William Agyapong and other senior military officials.
President Mahama reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing Ghana’s military infrastructure and operational capabilities.
“Our military must be equipped to handle modern threats. This upgrade is a crucial step toward that goal,” President Mahama stated. He further pledged increased budgetary allocations to support the acquisition of advanced platforms and military assets.
The President also urged security leaders to consider innovative financing strategies to improve infrastructure, particularly troop accommodation, reinforcing the importance of welfare and readiness in military effectiveness.
“I will be by your side every step of the way,” Mahama assured the security chiefs, underlining his dedication to a stronger, more modern armed force.
The redevelopment of the Asutsuare Camp is expected to not only improve training capacity but also enhance Ghana’s overall security posture in an increasingly complex global landscape.
