President John Dramani Mahama Nominates New District Chief Executives Across Ghana

PRESIDENT JOHN Dramani Mahama has nominated a comprehensive list of individuals for appointment as District Chief Executives (DCEs) across Ghana’s 16 regions.

This is in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended.

The announcement, officially released by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and signed by Minister Ahmed Ibrahim (MP), is dated 26th March 2025. These nominations are pending approval by the respective District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies.

Below is the full list of nominated District, Municipal and Metropolitan Chief Executives by region and district:

Volta Region

1. Ho – Stephen Adom
2. Hohoe – Prosper Kumi
3. Ketu South – Nicholas Kwabla Worlachie
4. Ketu North – Rev. Martin Amenakli
5. Keta – Wisdom Bondiru Seade
6. Kpando – [Pending]
7. Adaklu – Jerry Yaw Ameko
8. Afadzato South – Manfred Tawiah
9. Agotime-Ziope – Alfred Klu Odikro
10. Akatsi North – Bless Kodjo Katamani

The President’s nominations signal a strategic restructuring aimed at enhancing grassroots governance and local development. With names pending in only a few districts, the list is largely complete and sets the stage for Assembly approvals in the coming weeks.
